I just spent the last 3 days in the most incredible seminar (for lack of a better word) of my life. It's called Breakthrough to Success and I'd recommend absolutely anyone to go... however that's not the point of this post. I'll probably talk about the seminar more in the coming weeks but today I want to talk about something that distressed me with some of the participants.
Now the event is free if you're referred by someone else (like if you use my link above) and everyone knows when you go to a free or cheap (although I'm not saying this is cheap... it's normally $895) seminar they're going to try to sell you something.
And Chris Howard is a very good at selling but there's a very good reason for that... what he offers is basically a necessity if you want to achieve anywhere near your potential. What the weekend gives you is incredible and everyone was dying to know more.
This is what shocked me...
Before the weekend a friend who had already gone sent me an email with this in it:
"I've been to Breakthrough to Success twice now and highly rate it. I went earlier this year and will probably go again next year. Beware of the major sell but the three days will blow your mind and give you huge inspiration. Christopher Howard must be the best presenter I have ever seen."
Then when I was at the event I was talking to one of the event people about the courses. When he stepped away for a moment another friend (who was there for the second time) made the passing comment:
"Getting the hard sell eh?"
Why I believe this is crazy
Now these are great guys and quite successful in their own right but that fear of being sold is a huge limiting belief. It's like they view it as a game or something where if they resist the sales pitch they win. Unfortunately I truly believe it means they lose... big time.
Think about it... these guys were prepared to go to the free event twice but not invest further into learning this stuff. The first one is actually going to the next event as well so obviously he thinks it's valuable information. But they obviously fail to commit when using it in their lives.
And they're not the only ones... the seminar was full of excited people loving the experience but too scared to commit to further learning. Some had plans to go away and make more money before committing... not realising that they're just going to lose momentum and be in the same place 6 months from now.
What I believe it takes to be great
If you want to be great at anything in life you have to commit. No one learns to swim by just dipping their foot in the water. You just have to dive in and go for it.
I learned this lesson the hard way and used to be one of those people that chased the free information. Now I realise I have to commit to myself and my learning... so I do. I would have easily spent over $10,000 on my marketing education in the past 2 years and that's nothing to do with university either.
Be accountable
Another huge mistake I've made in my life is trying to do it all alone. For some reason I took the goal of being a self-made millionaire a little too literally and refused help from all directions. After all I'd only feel successful if I did it all myself... right?
If that isn't the biggest load of bs I've ever heard! (By the way that's what Chris Howard helps you do... get rid of bs like this in your head.) Now I realise the importance of having people to guide you and hold you accountable to your actions.
Because when we're our own boss it's easy to let ourselves off the hook. To come up with some lame excuse why we didn't do what we needed too. And guess what that means for your life and business?
Are you just fluffing around here?
You're reading this because you want better marketing in your business. Yet have you subscribed to get How To Make More Money From Your Marketing for free? Have you signed up for the 2 week free trial of the 12 Hour Sales Booster?
You'd be surprised how many people get the free guide but not the trial because they're scared they'll buy it at the end. Like paying a small fee to change your business forever is a bad thing (and it is a ridiculously small fee at the moment). Other people are even scared of putting in their email address because "I'll try to sell something to them!"
Guess what? I'm not selling anything to you...
Quite frankly I don't need to sell anything. If you're really serious about improving your marketing you'll buy it in an instant. You'll immediately see the value and the results it'll mean for your business.
If you don't - that's fine - maybe it's not for you. But if you seriously want to improve your business you must improve your marketing. And since you can do that for less than a clothes shopping spree you might have to ask yourself why you can't commit to this.
Do you find this harsh?
Now I don't mean to be a dick here... but I do mean to be confrontational. Because that's what a good coach does... pushes you to your limit so you can achieve your goals. It's the same for sports, fitness, weight loss, life and your business.
I push you because no one pushed me and I languished for years in business survival mode. Now I achieve so much more because I have multiple coaches and mentors pushing me to my limits. And the more I achieve... the more you benefit as well (stay tuned for a big announcement coming soon).
What you do next
Go and sign up to the 12 Hour Sales Booster - or not - it really doesn't affect my life... just yours. But if you want to grow your business and have more money, more freedom and more fun... then your coach recommends it. You can sign up here:
P.S. If you want to know if I walk my own talk I just committed to $5,091 of training with a plan of increasing that to over $20,000 in the next 2 years. And that's not even including all the marketing training I do.
Are you this committed to having a successful business and life? If not... ask yourself "why?" You might be surprised by the answers...
