Most experiences with businesses are pretty unremarkable. They involve lackluster customer service and poor quality products. However that's great news for us.
It means the bar is set pretty low when you want to really wow a customer. So I'm not sure why more businesses don't try to do it. Because by providing an incredible customer experience you have a much better chance of turning them into a regular client.
A strong business needs a strong base
If you're not amazing your clients then why are you even in business? I mean... what's really the point? It sure ain't about the money or the great hours a business provides... because chances are the money and freedom aren't so great yet and that's why you're here.
If you want to achieve business success it all starts with amazing your clients. If you're not going to bother building this foundation for your business then you might as well go back to your day job. Remember how much fun that was?
Practicing what I preach
I hate people who talk about how you should do this and do that... when they don't do that stuff themselves. So here's an example from my business.
In my businesses short life of two years I have had 9 personal clients. These are people I work with personally to improve their websites. Now to be honest this is my main source of income as I'm only getting my own information products going now.
That means I have to keep them happy... and make them more money... or my business wouldn't have lasted very long. In fact out of those 9 there were two cases where we just didn't see eye-to-eye and didn't even finish the initial project. So I've really focused on making 7 clients very happy with my work.
What about your business?
How many clients do you really need to reach your income goals? How many times would they have to purchase from you a year? How can you achieve this?
Because if you can get a small number of clients that love you and are willing to pay more money for your products or services... then your business is made. Could I have more clients? Sure and that's what I'm working on by creating my information products but it's important to me that I deliver the same amazing experience my personal clients receive.
What you do next
Make your client experience amazing and show just how much you care about each and every one of your clients. After all they're keeping your business alive so show a little gratitude. They'll appreciate it and so will your accountant.
